My rating: 4/5 stars

I wanted a vampire book and wanted to choose Crave, but after some evaluation, I went for this series, because I read it was darker and more intense.

The series is not so new on the market and I was a little afraid that it might be outdated, but nope, it delivered exactly as it should have.

This vampire universe is complex, with an Index that shows you all the names and essential elements. Still, as a summary, it’s about the infinite battle between vampires and humans and how the first need to survive, in a world where their kind is getting weaker.

Beth is the female lead, a woman who will have her world turned upside down by Wrath, a super vampire who will come to protect her and tell her the truth about her real family. Beth is half human, half vampire, and needs to be protected by the Black Dagger Brotherhood, a group of super extraaa vampires, all with very interesting names. They swear to protect their kind and fight against humans/ the lesser, in this battle that seems to be going on for centuries.

Beth and Wrath develop an intense bond very quickly and will begin a very dangerous love story, in which her legacy will be put to the test and Wrath’s faith in his world will be questioned by his love for her.

I gave the book 4 stars, even though I loved it and loved the pace of the story. My only problem was the speed of the relationship and the way Beth and Wrath became from that, THAT. It was very quick and you kind of had the feeling that my book missed some pages, because they turned into this power couple SO fast, I didn’t have time to even blink. Maybe in the vampire world, this kind of connection is reasonable, but for me, it felt a little odd and rushed.

Anyways, the book was good – intense, with a good love story, with suspense and thrills and some violence to go with it. It is not YA, so please don’t have that impression. It gets darker with every chapter and every book.
