My rating: 4.5/5 stars

This series is something else and extremely different than the “Twisted” one. From 4 books, I only liked 2 of them but consider giving the spin-off a chance and see if I’ll change my mind. Boy, and how I changed it… I LOVE the “Kings of Sin” because the stories are sexy and the heroes are out of this world. There is simply no comparison between “The Twisted” series and this one, or maybe making an exception for Christian.

“King of Greed” is the 3rd book from the series and follows the story of Dominic and Alessandra Davenport, a married couple who find themselves in a challenging situation. From the previous stories, we could anticipate what would happen, because we see Dominic pretty much ignoring his wife and being committed only to his job. Alessandra tries not to seem affected, but we could read between the lines and see that they won’t last long like this.

So, in this story, we follow them in different stages of their marriage and after they finally divorce, due to Alessandra, who has had it with her husband putting her in second place. Dominic realizes what a fool he is and will try to make his wife fall in love with him again. The second chance romance is intense and extremely emotional, I warn you.

Alessandra was a very vulnerable heroine, but also very strong because she managed to keep her resistance and move forward with the divorce, even having strong feelings for Dominic. She has the clarity that a fresh start is needed and that could be achieved only by separation. Also, she accepted after much insisting that Dominic would try to get her back, so it was clear that her heart was stronger than her mind, in the end. I liked her determination, her vulnerability, and her strength to start fresh, all by herself, only powered by her ambition. She was truly wonderful to watch.

Dominic was pretty intense and I have to give it to him, a very enjoyable character. He was not exaggerated like the guys from the “Twisted” series and he did everything humanly possible to get Ale back, even if it meant losing her. The way all these revelations came back to him and the emotional turmoil was very intense to read about, making me really like him. Not like Kai, who was first place for me, but Dominic really fought for my attention and love and in the end, he won. You could feel his desperation, and his struggles and at the same time, could understand when he realized what he had to do. If you ask me, I would have ceased a loooong time ago, but bravo to Alessandra for putting her first and shifting this relationship as it should have been from the start.

I enjoyed the back-in-time scenes and also the interior monologues that came for Alessandra and Dominic. They completed very well the picture and wrapped nicely the plot, even if the action was not so developed. The story was more about feeling and making amends than actually shocking the audience with action and plot twists. It was really nice to read it and it only took me 2 days.
