My rating: 4/5 stars

Another book by Mia from Archer’s universe and I couldn’t be happier about it. “Archer’s Voice” is one of my favorite stories written by Mia and every time I have the opportunity of going back to the original story, my answer is YES.

This is practically the 3rd book, following Archer’s Voice and Travis. “Falling for Gage” follows a character whom we only saw in the book for about 2 seconds, but apparently Mia had plans for Mr. Buchanan and here we are, reading his story.

Gage is not your average hero, he seems blocked in his world and because no one made him want anything else, he believes that the reality in which he is living is the best for him. He needs to take over his father’s business and he is stuck in a pattern, in which rules and other people dictate his life. Seeing him like this was extremely sad because he had no idea that life could be different, with passion, dedication and living up to his dreams.

His one-night stand with Rory was the trigger for that, but he somehow managed to lock it in a secure place, because that uncertainty was not ok for him. Rory entered his life on a fantastic night, but her path led it to him again, when she came into his town in search of her father. Her mother died when she was 10 and she never knew who her father was, an enigma that always hunted her. Now, Rory will do a little investigating of her own, to find her roots and her family. In a very hazardous way, she will be associated with Gage in a very peculiar way and that mystery will follow the story until the second part.

The book was very relaxing and even if the events were not extremely dynamic, the story was very emotional. Rory’s road to finding her father, with the clues that her mother left her through the pages of her journal, and the way she managed to get closer to Gage in this journey was so beautiful and heartwarming. Practically, both Rory and Gage are trapped in their present lives and desperately need a purpose to feel like they are alive. Gage needs to break loose of his father and his inheritance, to find his passion and move forward and Rory needs to live her life with a purpose. Both find that spark when they meet, but it’s very difficult to shift when you don’t know your own path.

The puzzle made from the pages of Rory’s mother was such a beautiful idea and it made me more eager to follow and see where the clues go. The mystery behind her origins and the friendship she fosters with Archer, Bree, Haven, and Travis is something very sweet to follow. I loved how vulnerable Gage was and how he managed to actually see what makes him happy. To put it in summary, both discover each other at the same time and it’s very nice to follow them.
