My rating: 3.5 / 5 stars
Mona’s “Again series” continues with the third book, which, in my opinion, was not as good as the previous two. I enjoyed the chemistry between Sawyer and Isaac, but I was not a fan of the plot and the way things went down between the two of them.
Sawyer and Isaac are a surprising combination and I was not thinking about them when reading the synopsis for this book. They are extremely different, they come from different worlds, but they find elements that bring them together in the most unusual way. Sawyer is left with a terrible loss years ago and her wild demeanor and personality come from grief.
The only person who could be near her was Dawn and after they befriended, Sawyer began to loosen up and trust people around her, until a certain point. She is still confused, impulsive, and without a doubt misunderstood, because her actions are wild sometimes. I could understand her, but the way she acted drove me nuts and I think it’s a writer’s fault here because I get the impression that all her heroines are strange…
Isaac is a very sweet boy, with a complicated past, followed by bullies who gave him trouble in school just because he was shy and quiet. At first glance, he is not a good match for Sawyer but he has that side that is unknown and seems to connect well with her. He is full of surprises and you will discover a new Isaac, new and improved, after his project with Sawyer.
What is very interesting about this trope is that you once again conclude that looks are not important. The feelings are primal to a good relationship and Sawyer and Isaac were the best example, coming from different worlds and finding their common links, aside from the physical attraction which was on point.
I gave the book 3.5 because of Sawyer, because of her hot and cold attitude, and because I just couldn’t relate to her style and personality. There were parts of the books that were shadowed by her tantrums and I just couldn’t leave that without a proper mark.
