My rating: 5/5 stars

This is my first 5-star book from this series. Not that the rest weren’t lovely, but this one simply blew me away. The hero and heroine blew me away, the plot blew me away, so practically, I ADORE this book from start to finish. In this moment, Linc and Arden are number 1 for me, leaving me heartbroken but extremely happy at the same time. They managed to ignite so many feelings within me that I cannot recommend this book more.

From all of the Colson family, Arden was the most guarded, the most scared of being seen and discovered, but she was more than right. She witnessed her father and mother being killed, and for 13 years, she managed to stay off the radar and be safe with the Colsons.

Linc came to Sparrow Falls to check up on Cope, but he ended up asking Shep to build him a house here, because he fell in love with the landscape, with the people from the community, and especially with Arden, the girl who knocked him off his feet from the moment they met.

I LOVE LINC!!! From my POV, he has the hardest mission because Arden went through hell and back to become the person she is today, and trusting somebody was impossible for her. Her art, her horses, and loud music were her sanctuary, and love was not in the picture. Linc managed to break those walls, to make her believe again, to open up, and more than that, to accept what happened and move on. It was so difficult for her, and the process has been hard, but he was so patient, kind, and lovely that you cannot not fall in love with him. He did that while battling his own demons, taking care of his sister, mourning his mom, and trying to win the cruel battles with his father, a merciless man.

Arden and Linc healed each other, and witnessing it was amazing. Arden was a pleasant surprise, a talented woman who had so much love to give. She managed to show Linc that he is not his father and that his heart is full of love and devotion for the people he loves. The way they built trust and developed was amazing, and I couldn’t stop reading about them.

Last but not least – THE PLOT TWIST! It was amazing, it was surprising, and from my POV, the best of the books. All the plot twists in this series were amazing, but this one was so good and so intelligent that it left me speechless. I was not expecting that, and neither will you, I can guarantee you that.

I have 2 more books from the series and my anxiety is already beginning to kick off. 😦
