My rating: 4/5 stars

I can’t believe that this series ended 😦 I feel so empty right now and so sad, because I got so attached to the characters and the plot. Even if there are times when I feel the structure of the books is repetitive, and that they follow a certain pattern all the time, I was hooked and loved every minute of the stories.

I believe Catherine did very well to leave Fallon and Kyler to have the last book, because in terms of emotion and connection, they win the big prize. The book was full of emotion, of so much suppressed love, that I felt my breath was not passing correctly. It felt so strong and so overwhelming that the story could have been only about them finding their way back to each other, and it wouldn’t have mattered at all. Of course, Catherine had a story prepared for the 2 of them, with twists and turns, drama and challenges, but nothing could come between our characters and their love.

We all know Kyler and Fallon and their unspoken bond, we just don’t know exactly how they got there and what tore them apart, keeping them only in the siblings area. Kyler has a dark past, full of neglect and abuse, and he grew up with the impression that he is not enough, that he will ruin everything he touches. Even though he is so in love with Fallon, he kept his distance, but never moved on. He focused on his tattoo parlor and his gym, but Fallon was a constant reminder in his heart and on his body – you will see what I am talking about.

Fallon is giving back what she saw in her family – she is helping kids be free of their parents’ abuse, and because of that, she is burned out and tired all the time, but happy. She is determined and dedicated, and she will stop at nothing to be the light in those kids’ lives, even if that means putting herself in danger for their own good.

When unpredictable things happen, Fallon and Kyler must come to an arranged marriage to help the situation, but in their case, nothing of what they are showing is fake or acted out. This is the perfect opportunity for them to spend more time together and express all their feelings. The road was not easy, and it is full of suffering and drama, but their journey was so intense that you will devour the pages. I loved their connection, the way they speak without words, how they communicate only by looking at each other, sharing their pinky, and it tore me apart. I don’t want to judge the other couples and say that their love story was not intense or strong, but Fallon and Kyler definitely take the grand prize in terms of feelings and suppressed emotions.

I also love the idea behind the arranged marriage trope, but I cannot spoil it for obvious reasons. It is very surprising, but sweet, and it gave Kyler a purpose to be better and show what he is capable of. It was a good choice and I loved every minute of it.

I encourage you to read all the series – even though it’s light and sexy, it is packed with emotions and will take you on a ride to remember.
