My rating: 4/5 stars

This series is going to be the death of me, emotionally speaking. After reading the Windsor series, I was expecting to find something light, without that drama and plot twists, but I was seriously mistaken. If “Until you” was painful, prepare yourself for “Dr. Grant”!!!!!!

Noah Grant is Aria’s brother, and his dream is to become a doctor, to help people and take on his father’s legacy. Raising his sister hasn’t been easy for him, and alongside the college loans and providing for her, his life was basically empty. Now that Aria is moving forward with her life, it’s time for Noah to start his career and maybe climb the society ladder. For this, he needs to be focused, determined, and visible. When Howard Astor gives him the biggest chance of his life in the university campus clinic, Noah is all in and ready to prove himself. He knows who Howard Astor is, and he is aware of the opportunity.

BUT, everything goes out the window the moment Amara Astor enters his office, with a “medical condition”, seeking help. Amara is Howard Astor’s granddaughter, and she is forbidden. But his medical duties need to be put first; therefore, Noah helps pull off Amara’s sex toy, which she was testing as a prototype. Funny!! Their encounter might be funny or, let’s say, awkward, but the instant attraction is there and they won’t stop thinking about each other, even though Howard Astor specifically said Amara is forbidden.

Noah and Amara were very intense from the beginning, maybe because they were not allowed to fall in love, giving them this urgency, but also the thrill of the forbidden. Amara is dreaming about having her own company, developing sex toys, but she needs to be off the supervision of her granddad, she needs to be independent, and she is almost desperate to succeed alone. She fell for Noah so easily, but always felt guilty that she would destroy his career. Even if it’s wrong, Noah is determined to fight for her, to give up his dreams, and try to be happy with the woman of his dreams.

BUT, life happens in the most fucked up way possible, and a MASSIVE plot twist happens, which I guessed earlier, but I didn’t think the author would do this to us and the characters. But she did, causing drama, heartbreak, revelations, and making us ask ourselves what we would have done in real life. She complicated the story, created so much drama, and so much uncertainty, that I was glued to the pages until late at night.

The story is not particularly better than the first book, but it’s more dramatic and unpredictable, leaving the readers speechless and broken. Even if there is always hope for HEA, the path towards it was very complicated and difficult to understand and process.
