For this interview, I have someone very special that agreed to answer my questions. Riann C. Miller was more than willing to share with you guys some of her secrets and she rocked doing it. I loved all of her books, especially “Meeting The Unpredictable” and her style and characters just stuck with me, being love at first sight:). I hope you enjoy this one:)
Ramona: Please tell us something about yourself, so that the readers could get to know you better 🙂
Riann: Hi everyone! I’m Riann (pronounced Ry-an). I’m a married mother of 2. I published my first book in September 2015. Since then I’ve published 6 more.
Ramona: What was your job before you started writing full time?
Riann: Writing isn’t my full-time job. I work for a screening company performing background checks.
Ramona: What do you enjoy doing besides writing?
Riann: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and I watch a lot of KC Royal’s baseball games.
Ramona: How well do you handle deadlines? Do you get inspired when dealing with pressure, or are you facing writer’s block?
Riann: I hate deadlines. I work best when I’m on my own schedule.
Ramona: What are the upsides and downsides to being an author?
Riann: The upside… I’ve met some truly amazing people. The downside… Before I post anything, I stop and wonder if I’ll offend someone. The idea that anyone considers me to be a public figure blows my mind.
Ramona: What is the main thing you want readers to take away from your book?
Riann: I want them to feel good. I remember the first time I read a romance book where a main character died at the end and it gutted me for days. I read to escape life. To drift to another world where someone else’s problems remind me that life isn’t all that bad. Therefore, when a reader finishes one of my books, I hope they do so smiling.
Ramona: Have you ever experiences something that was worth writing about in your books?
Riann: No major plots, but a few of characters feed off the personalities of people I know.
Ramona: What is the book are you most proud of?
Riann: “Living With Doubt” because I moved out of my comfort zone during the editing process.
Ramona: What was your most difficult and easiest characters to write about?
Riann: Lacey from “Living With Doubt” is by far the hardest character I’ve written. Lacey and I disagreed a lot but in the end, she won. The easiest character I’ve written is probably Tyler from “Meeting The Unpredictable”.
Ramona: Do you believe in happily ever after?
Riann: Yes. A hundred percent YES!
Ramona: How difficult is it to blend fiction with reality in love stories?
Riann: I think that depends on the plot. Personally, romance is the center of every book I write.
Ramona: What is your relationship with your readers? Please share a message for them 🙂
Riann: I love interacting with my readers. I have a reading group but to be honest, I’m busy and I don’t post in there nearly as often as I should but I check my messages daily and I always try to respond to anyone who takes the time to message me.
