My rating: 4/5 stars

Catharina Maura did it again, and with a book I was not expecting. “Mine for a moment” is a spin-off of the Windsor Series, with side characters, but the depth of the plot and the feelings put into the book spoke to millions, and I really think it had a huge impact on readers.

Archer and Serenity are our main characters, 2 people who have known each other forever, but never interacted at an intimate level before. Serenity is Archer’s best friend and sister, and she is the muse that inspired their IT company. Even though they were friends, Archer was romantically linked to Tyra, and Serenity was secretly in love with her best friend, Theo. So, there was no love between them, just something platonic.

When Tyra went missing for 2 years, Archer decided it was finally time to move on from the guilt and torture he was exposing himself to; therefore, he became immersed in the art of a street artist, The Muse. He became fascinated with her work, with the message behind her art, without knowing that she was closer than ever.

The thing that triggered Archer’s and Serenity’s story is a list Archer found, in which Serenity has like, a TO DO. The first thing on her list was to lose her virginity to him. Even though at the beginning Archer was not very thrilled about it, he began to obsess over Serenity and began seeing her more intimately. One thing led to another, and they start an affair, without Ezra, Serenity’s brother, knowing. Things build up rather quickly and their fling becomes something much more.

Their story had its ups and downs, with all the twists a story can possibly have, but the one thing marked me most was Archers’ intensity and love for Serenity. It’s been a while since I’ve read such an intense and heartwarming story, that literally made me feel what Archer was living. I could feel his angst, his guilt, but also his love and devotion towards her. He was divided between past and present and it took him a while to decide which path he prefers, but he ended up choosing with his heart.

Serenity gradually changed him without him even noticing, and his surprise after the first half of the book was to die for. Serenity might not be my favorite female lead, but Archer was. He showed me what devotion and dedication look like and I had the time of my life reading this book.

The book has drama, so don’t expect for the book to be light. It’s a journey, full of good and bad decisions, but all of them will show Archer and Serenity what they need to do. 🙂 I really enjoyed the book and for me it was a comfort story from beginning until the end.
