This is my second book from Brittainy. I enjoyed so much “Loving Mr.Daniels” because of my ever lasting obsession with love story between student and professor, but I just can’t help it. I liked her writing style and began searching for her books. I’ve found this little thing and it was AWESOME!!
This book reminder me so much of Mia Sheridan’s Archer’s Voice!!It was stunning, emotional, sad, surprising, thrilling, lovely and swooning. A lot of positive aspect, I know, but this book deserves it.
No spoilers for the plot, but please read this book with your heart open to all sorts of feelings, because you will not regret it.
No words to describe the emotional roller coaster you will be on. The characters are so complex, especially Tristan, but after knowing his story you will totally understand why. You will be in a love hate relationship with him, but by the end of the book it will be worth it. The feelings that Elisabeth and Tristan have for each other are born from hurt and loss. They are looking to fill in a void left after they lost dear ones, but in the end they find a way to fall in love and replace that void with hope. It is a wonderful book about second chances and being able to love again even if you feel your heart is not ready for it.
I like symbolism a lot and my mind was wondering so many places, but what I particularly liked was:
The meaning behind their names- yes, I know that I am crazy but even their names were fascinating to me. Elisabeth and Emma are old names that I associate to romantic periods, like Pride and Prejudice, and Tristan, a brave knight from French poetry. I like the symbolism behind them and I know the writer chose them wisely.
The family unity and meaning, how Elisabeth and Emma were so close, the bond of mother and daughter that was indestructible, even when tragedy hits.
The feathers- My God!! That idea was fantastic, sweet and brought tears to my eyes. Such an unique way of showing that although you lost someone, that person is there to guide you and take care of you in every way he can. It was very touching and special.
Last but not least, the attention given to the word ” breath”, beginning with the title. Such a great idea of making a series of books based on nature’s elements, the basic and most important things that insures survival. I am looking forward to a book for LOVE, because one can’t live without it.

“The Air He Breathes” sau “Aerul Pasiunii”, aşa cum a fost tradusă la noi, este o carte care m-a marcat. Nu este prima poveste pe care o citesc de la Brittainy C. Cherry, însă este cea mai profundă şi cea mai încărcată de dramatism. Întotdeauna am iubit poveştile care îţi rămân în minte mult timp după ce termini de citit cartea şi cu siguranţă Aerul Pasiunii are toate ingredientele pentru a se înscrie în această categorie.
Suntem martori la povestea lui Elisabeth şi Tristan, două suflete frânte ce se vor întâlni atunci când totul pare fără speranţă. Elisabeth a rămas de curând văduvă şi singură, având grijă de fiica ei, Emma. Modul tragic în care şi-a pierdut soţul a venit ca un şoc în viaţa ei şi acum încearcă să fie puternică pentru fata sa, pentru a putea începe o nouă viaţă. Tristan trăieşte şi el un destin cumplit, pierzându-şi soţia şi baietul într-un accident de maşină cumplit. Aşa cum vă puteţi imagina, vieţile lor sunt cufundate în tristeţe, într-un gol imens pe care nimeni nu îl poate umple.
Spre deosebire de Tristan, Elisabeth o are pe Emma alături, însă şi aşa face faţă cu greu tristeţii şi singurătăţii. Cei doi se întâlnesc într-o zi şi totul capătă sens atunci când se privesc, deşi abordarea lui Tristan este puţin mai nepoliticoasă. Amândoi au aceeaşi singurătate în privire, suferă aceeaşi pierdere şi între ei se crează o conexiune unică. Practic, încep să se “folosească” unul pe altul pentru a-şi acoperi golul din suflet şi deşi nu realizează, îşi dau o a doua şansă la dragoste.
Am fost profund impresionată de modul absolut superb în care această poveste de dragoste mi-a fost prezentată de Brittainy C. Cherry. În primul rând, personajele m-au încântat. Elisabeth este modelul de eroină ce reuşeşte să se ridice mânată fiind de iubirea pentru fiica ei. Deşi cu inima frântă, face totul pentru ea şi încearcă să îi ofere un cămin plin de afecţiune şi căldură. Prezenţa lui Tristan în viaţa ei o perturbă, însă o face să trăiască din nou. Deşi modul în care relaţia lor începe este puţin neobişnuit, cei doi îşi vor da seama că până la urmă destinul are planuri măreţe şi indiferent de acţiunile lor, tot vor ajunge să fie împreună. Tristan pentru mine a fost un erou extrem de încercat de viaţă, puţin neadaptat, dar care a reuşit în numele dragostei pe care i-o poartă lui Elisabeth să se schimbe, să fie omul pe care se poate baza şi care o poate iubi fără să privească în urmă.
Dragostea mea pentru poveştile vechi, marca Jane Austen, este puternic înrădăcinată şi imediat am făcut conexiune cu numele personajelor noastre. Cine nu a auzit de Elisabeth Bennet din “Mândrie şi Prejudecată”, sau Emma, eroina din cartea cu acelaşi nume? Tristan de asemenea are un nume cu o rezonanţă puternică în istorie, fiind purtat de un curajos cavaler francez care i-a furat inima Isoldei. Legăturile acestea m-au făcut să mă ataşez şi mai mult de personaje şi să cred în cuvântul “predestinare”.
Recomand cu drag această carte şi sunt convinsă că veţi fi impresionaţi de modul curat şi lin în care acţiunea este relatată de Brittainy C. Cherry. Scenele de dragoste sunt perfect conturate, iar legăturile dintre personaje dau naştere unei poveşti unice. Atenţie deosebită este dată cuvântului “respiră” şi veţi vedea că acesta îmbracă toată acţiunea şi este un element esenţial în descrierea ei.
