My rating: 4/5 Stars
After thinking a lot how to rate this book, I will give it 4 stars. In the beginning I wanted 5, but Ridge made me change my mind.. several times…
This book was a mixt of emotions.. I laughed a lot ( especially at Warren’s jokes and way of talking) and I really wanted to cry.. but couldn’t.. and I really don’t know why.. there were a lot of scenes when my heart was pounding out of my chest, but the idea of being second place made me feel very angry in our hero.
I don’t know how to explain the way I saw the heroes relationship: from my hearts point of view, it was fantastic.. the pencil scene and the concert scene were mind blowing, and I had to read it again and again to think that I want to experience something like this in real life.. but my brain was very stubborn and told me: Sydney was his second choice!!!!!!!!!!If Maggie would have wanted him back, he would never had talked to her again and maybe forget about her completely.. I understand that he had a duty to fulfill, that he had to be with her due to her illness, but please, don’t lie to my face by telling me that in 2 weeks you are over her.. whatever.. maybe I live in a world where you can only love once.. apparently you love more than once and with different intensity.
I wanted to blame Sydney for kissing him the second time really fast and forgetting about the situation they were in.. but after I though that maybe I would have done exactly the same. She was so in love and forgot everything only to get him back.
To finally get to a conclusion: I loved the book, but I also comment on the moral of the subject.. I just don’t know how you can love 2 persons at the same time and choose between them.. I also don’t know how you can get at a point where you have to choose. When you love somebody, you don’t need anyone else, therefore you can’t possibly put in the situation of seeing anybody else and having to make comparisons.
