Hi everybody, I have a very sweet and delicious treat for you! The magnificent Claire Contreras agreed to answer my questions and I am delighted to share this with you. She is amazing, as you might have noticed and in the answers below you will find a lot about Claire the writer and Claire the woman. She was very opened about almost any aspect and I really apreciate her taking the time to be part of this interview. By bringing us the Heart Series she made me a dying fan of her work and I am very happy to have talked with her. I hope you enjoy it:)
Ramona: To start with, please share something about yourself with the readers 🙂
Claire: I love going out and eating by myself so that I can listen to the conversations around me.
Ramona: Did you always know you wanted to be a writer?
Claire: I’ve always been a writer. I wasn’t sure when I would publish any of my work, but it’s something that’s always been a constant for me.
Ramona: What do you like to do besides writing?
Claire: People watch, talk to people, spend time with family.
Ramona: Do you have a writing routine? A place where you write, or a certain amount of time you write per day?
Claire: Not really. Creating structure is definitely smart, but I’m a chaotic creature and I have a difficult time sticking to schedules.
Ramona: What kind of music do you like? Do you listen to music when you’re writing?
Claire: I like every type of music. Rap, rock, jazz, you name it. The music I listen to when I’m writing depends on the story I’m working on. Right now, Kaleo is usually playing in my headphones.
Ramona: What books would you recommend to your readers?
Claire: Judging from my reader group on FB, it seems like my readers are very much like me- we like a little bit of everything. I always rave about The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons, so that’s a series I’m always telling them to read.
Ramona: Do you know where the story is going when you sit down to write it? Do you outline?
Claire: I usually know the end of my stories before I know much else. I don’t outline. I’ve tried and fail every time. It’s something I really want to start doing because I see the value of doing it.
Ramona: With what hero from your Heart Series would you go on a date with?
Clarei: It depends on where we’re going lol. Probably Jensen.
Ramona: What was the most difficult and easiest book to write?
Claire: Easiest- There is No Light in Darkness. Most difficult- Catch Me.
Ramona: What book do you think is 100% Claire Contreras?
Claire: Paper Hearts or Catch Me.
Ramona: Who came up with the design idea for the covers?
Claire: I’ve been very fortunate to work with several different cover designers and we collaborate on the idea for the covers pretty well. I usually say what I think I want and they get back to me with something much more spectacular than what I expected.
Ramona: What other genres besides Romance would you want to experiment?
Claire: I write romance, romantic suspense, erotic suspense, and children’s books. I actually started out writing children’s books when I was young, so it’s something I definitely plan to go back to at some point.
Ramona: Can you share with us something about your new projects?
Claire: I’m currently working on a romantic suspense titled Until I Get You, but I’m not ready to share anything else just yet 😉
Ramona: Please leave a message for the readers that love your work:)
Claire: Thank you so much for picking up my books! I’m so grateful for you! ❤
