When somebody mentions Cassandra Clare’s name I am certain a lot of hearts beat frantically and shouter erupts in an instant, especially for the Shadowhunters fans. We all are extremely familiar with Jace, Clary, Izzy, Simon, Alec and Magnus and their eternal battle with the shadow world and demons. Cassie chose Magnus Bane and gave him his own book for us fan to enjoy more in detail his adventures and get to know him better.
“The Bane Chronicles” are made of 11 stories, not presented in a chronological order, but all of them have something special and revealing to fans. Maybe you felt that in The Infernal Devices or Mortal Instruments you just scratched the surface of what Magnus means or what he is capable of, but after reading this book you will be delighted and satisfied, with a lot of questions answered.
Every story has its specifics and defining elements, from drama, amusement, suspense and are very detailed and easy to read. Some of them are before Magnus met the Shadowhunters, some are after that (including one with Alec, in which I could figure out more his POV about this relationship and his fears upon it). We have a story that has not been published before, only mentioned something about it but left a lot of question marks to the readers ( hint, it starts with P…). Each story begins with some drawings, that were incredible and gave me some details regarding the look of the other characters involved, but not Magnus’s look, because in that area, we have various inspiration sources.
I loved The Bane Chronicles because it kind of seals the deal when talking about our favorite warlock. It gives you a bigger picture of his past and thoughts and you will find out extra things that weren’t discussed or reveled before. I think Cassie read our minds and figured out exactly what we needed from her:) I would of like to read them in chronological order, making the timeline more précised, but let’s say that this was the only fault of this anthology and the reason I rate it with 4 stars instead of 5 ones.

Când cineva spune Cassandra Clare sunt convinsă că inimile multor cititori bat la unison, aceasta fiind faimoasa autoare care a scris seriile “Instrumente Mortale”, “Dispozitive Infernale” şi are acum în lucru o altă trilogie numită “Uneltiri Întunecate” ce a apărut parțial la noi. Toţi îi ştim pe Jace, Clary, Izzy, Simon, Alec şi Magnus şi eterna lor luptă cu demonii. Dintre aceste personaje, Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan şi Maureen Johnson s-au oprit asupra lui Magnus Bane, cel mai puternic vrăjitor din Brooklyn şi i-au dedicat o serie de 11 poveşti sub numele de “Cronicile lui Magnus Bane”.
Aşa cum am menţionat, cartea este alcătuită din 11 poveşti, ce nu sunt relatate în ordine cronologică, însă au un conţinut foarte compact şi ne fac să ne dăm seama cine este de fapt Magnus Bane. Poate din cărţile trecute nu am reuşit să îl descifrăm în totalitate, dar acum sunt convinsă că veţi termina cartea pe deplin satisfăcuți de apropierea cu acest personaj.
Întâmplările ne sunt prezentate într-o ordine aleatorie, fiecare cu specificul ei. Fie că sunt amuzante, încărcate de suspans, detaliate, sau mai uşor de parcurs,toate ne înfăţişează întâmplările prin care a trecut Magnus până în punctul în care a început aventurile cu personajele noastre preferate din “Instrumente Mortale”. În câteva dintre acestea apare şi Alec şi am fost foarte încântată, deoarece pătrundem mai adânc în mintea lui şi vedem exact care îi sunt temerile şi speranţele referitoare la această relaţie. Avem parte şi de câteva scene care nu au fost publicate până acum, dar vă las pe voi să le descoperiţi. Fiecare povestire are la început câteva imagini care mi-au plăcut foarte mult şi m-au ajutat să îmi fac o idee asupra înfăţişării fiecărui personaj, mai puţin a lui Magnus, pentru că la acest capitol avem deja multe surse de inspiraţie.
Recomand cu încredere această carte, deoarece vă va apropia mai mult de vrăjitorul nostru drag şi îl veți cunoaşte chiar mai bine decât credeaţi iniţial. O consider o idee foarte bună şi modul de relatare este atât de antrenant, încât îţi captează atenţia încă de la primele pagini. Sunt foarte curioasă să vă aud părerile. Lectură plăcută!!
